NLRP3 and hepatocellular carcinoma: Liu et al. revealed that an opportunistic pathogen—Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, is enriched in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues, which could drive the progression of liver cirrhosis toward hepatocellular carcinoma and promote carcinogenesis by activating the senescence associated secretory phenotype (SASP) in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) to secrete IL‐1β through the TLR4/NF‐κB/NLRP3 pathway.91
