[36] did not note an association of Bsm-I and Fok-I polymorphisms with hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia in a group of morbidly obese Polish patients, but a separate study in an elderly Polish population showed a significantly higher insulin concentration and HOMA in carriers of the AA genotype of the Bsm-I polymorphism and pointed to a relationship between the Fok-I polymorphism and glucose, insulin concentrations, and lipid parameters [30].
