An Italian monocentric cohort study found that between 2010 and 2013 [10], 20 out of 237 (8.4%) LT recipients developed a carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae (CR-KP) infection within 6 months post-LT (18 BSIs and 2 pneumonia); 11 patients were CR-KP colonized at LT and 30 acquired CR-KP colonization post-LT. This evidence concerns the gene NPPA and susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
