A prospective study including 31 patients with biopsy-proven NAFLD complicated with hyperlipidemia showed that atorvastatin therapy (10 mg daily for 24 months) improved adiponectin, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, transaminase, LDL cholesterol, type IV collagen, and CT liver–spleen ratio. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
