In the multivariate logistic regression analysis, male sex (OR 2.07, 95% CI 1.23–3.50; p = 0.006) along with current smoking at baseline (OR 2.41, 95% CI 1.44–4.03; p < 0.001) and CCB use (OR 1.91, 95% CI 1.18–3.09; p = 0.008) remained significantly associated with high circulating MMP-9 levels, independent of age, obesity, OSA, diuretic use, history of AMI, and CABG at baseline (Figure 3). This evidence concerns the gene MMP9 and obesity disorder.
