Furthermore, the NAFLD patients showed a significant decrease in the percentage of non-classical CD14+CD16++ monocytes, with 0.1 ± 0.0% of the total population (p < 0.0001) in patients without MCI and 0.2 ± 0.1% (p < 0.0001) in patients with MCI, compared to the control group (0.7 ± 0.1%) (Figure S1). This evidence concerns the gene CD14 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
