A Brazilian CML experts group has highlighted the need for molecular monitoring of BCR::ABL1 in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), noting that this approach should be part of the integral treatment of patients with CML since this monitoring will reduce the chances of disease progression, decrease health system costs, ensure compliance with international guidelines, and allow eligible patients to enter the TFR protocol, which will lead to cost savings that more than offset the cost of molecular testing [43]. This evidence concerns the gene ABL1 and chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
