Based on previous findings in Aβ mouse models, we tested the hypothesis that decreased microglial activation is detectable with serial 18 kDa translocator protein positron-emission-tomography (TSPO-PET) in pioglitazone-treated P301S mice, a well-established mouse model for tauopathy, to add to previous studies in Aβ mouse models [26,27,28,29]. Here, TSPO is linked to tauopathy.
