In our study, AA, DHA and the AA/EPA ratio associations with the offspring’s visceral adiposity and obesity risk parameters were predominant in the group of higher FATPs relative expression (Ʃ FATPs > 50th centile), in line with the findings of Larqué et al., in which FATP1 and FATP4 placental expressions were found to be involved in the placental transfer of LC-PUFAs [47]. Here, SLC27A4 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
