Similarly, Gao et al. [42] have demonstrated that pre-treatment with resveratrol in a dosage of 20 or 40 mg/kg for 7 consecutive days reduced cerebral edema (65.24%), infarct volume (14.30%), lipid peroxidation products and inflammatory markers; increased the Nissl bodies; positively regulated an HO-1 and Nrf-2; and restored the antioxidant state.
