Several clinical studies focused on the association of MetS or a number of its components with inflammatory markers (e.g., leukocyte counts, C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukine-6 (IL-6), IL-10, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), etc.)[10,27,28,29,30,31,32,33,34,35,36,37] or soluble adhesion molecules (e.g., intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1), sE-selectin, vascular adhesion protein-1 (sVAP-1), etc.)[37,38,39,40,41,42].
