CTLA4 and nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma: They showed, through the analysis of three different cohorts of patients (533 cases from TCGA database, 116 patients not receiving ICI and 71 patients who received either anti-PD-1 monotherapy second-line or later post-TKI—n = 46, or first-line anti-PD-1-based combination therapy—n = 25), that CTLA4 promoter hypomethylation was an independent predictor of improved outcome (PFS and OS) in ICI-treated ccRCC.
