Familial syndromes have an autosomal dominant inheritance (Peutz-Jeghers, PTEN, LEOPARD, NAME, etc.), most of them being caused by mutations of RAS-MAP (the rat sarcoma-mitogen-activated protein) kinase and mTOR (the mammalian target of rapamycin) signaling pathway [53] and being associated with increased risk of developing lentigo maligna melanoma [54]. This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and lentigo maligna melanoma.
