Sohretoglu et al. [131], for example, demonstrated that a standardised G. lucidum extract, containing both polysaccharides and triterpenes, could activate AMPK and inhibit IGFR/PI3K bringing a cascading inhibition of cell proliferation and induce cell death by suppressing the mTORC2-mediated phosphorylation of Akt in human lung cancer cells (A549 and A427 cells).
