In an in vitro and in vivo study using IFN-γ-stimulated intestinal macrophages and DSS-induced C57BL/6 mice model of colitis, respectively, Ruan and Zha [35] assessed the roles of moronic acid against a triterpenoid richly found in Pistacia chinensis, against NLRP3 activation during IBD. Here, NLRP3 is linked to inflammatory bowel disease.
