Research indicates that decreased abundances of SCFA-producing taxa (Coprococcus, Dorea and uncultured Ruminococcus) are associated with a lower efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (cyclophosphamide, anthracycline, taxol, or herceptin) in breast cancer patients and are associated with a lower number of intratumoral CD4+ and CD8+ cells as well as peripheral CD4+ T cells [108,109].
