The retention of Cx43 and the subsequent lack of GJIC have previously been observed in gastric, pancreatic, breast and lung cancers [35,36,37,38,39] and also in skin tumors such as atypical fibroxanthoma [40], and more recently in Kaposi’s sarcoma and angiosarcoma [12]. Here, GJA1 is linked to Kaposi's sarcoma.
