The Two-Pore Channel-1 (TPC-1) cell line was chosen in this review because it is one of the most prevalent cell lines in thyroid cancer, in which both RET/PTC1 (rearranged during transfection/papillary thyroid carcinoma type 1) rearrangement and BRAF V600E (B-Raf proto-oncogene, serine/threonine kinase) mutations are present (most common genetic alterations detected in this kind of neoplasm) (4).
