The re-sensitising effect that autophagy inhibitors have had on cancer cell lines and mouse models has been shown in a plethora of cancers, including, BRAF-mutant brain cancers and thyroid cancers, bladder cancer, non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and ALK-positive NSCLC (Ji et al., 2014; Levy et al., 2014; Ma et al., 2014; Chen and Shi, 2016; Wang et al., 2016; Kang et al., 2017). The gene discussed is BRAF; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
