The loss-of-function mutation of the TP53 tumor suppressive geneis considered to be one of the main causes of carcinogenesis.56 It is reported that around 36% of hepatocellularcarcinomas (HCCs) and 68% of non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs)were with TP53 gene mutation.57 Restorationof TP53 gene function may be a strategy for cancer therapy.58 Shi’s group recently reported a redox-responsiveLNP loaded with p53-encoding mRNA.59 Theyinvestigated the therapeutic effect of these nanoparticles in p53-deficientHep3B HCC and H1299 NSCLC.
