To elucidate the activation and exhaustion signatures of CD8+ T cells during CRC progression, we identified 11 clusters from a total of 38,180 CD8+ T cells, comprising GZMH+ recently activated effector memory or effector T cells (TEMRA/TEFF), HSPA1A+ T cells, CD161+ Tem, GZMK+ Tem, FGFBP2+ Tem, CD160+ intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL), CCR7+ naive T cells, PDCD1+ exhausted T cells (Tex), MKI67+ proliferative T cells, XCL1+ Trm, and SELENOK+ T cells (Figure 5A and B).
