Some of the most upregulated genes found in CRC co-cultured macrophages – LRP5, DPYSL3, THBS1, CXCL8, IL1ß and EREG (Figure 1E) – are related to the Wnt pathway (42–46), which is constitutively activated in CRC (47). The gene discussed is THBS1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
