The strongest genetic associations for microglia were found to be related to AD, and several genes associated with the endolysosomal pathway were identified including BIN1, CASS4, CD2AP, FCER1G, INPP5D, PICALM, RAPEB1, RIN3, TREM2, USP6NL and ZYX (125). Here, RIN3 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
