Inflammation (manifested as elevated pro-inflammatory interleukins (e.g. IL-6), a decrease in anti-inflammatory interleukins (e.g. IL-10), or elevated C-reactive protein, TNF-alpha, etc.)has also been linked to a wide range of neuropsychiatric disorders that first present in pediatric populations including ADHD [2], BPD [3], MDD [4], ASD [5, 6], suicidal behavior [7, 8] and schizophrenia [9].
