Several factors were associated with long-term weight recovery: younger age, female sex, lower ECOG score (0–1), lower BMI before surgery (BMI < 23 kg/m2), subtotal gastrectomy, more advanced cancer stage, weight loss at 1 year after surgery, maintained or increased Hb and albumin levels at 1 year after surgery, high ferritin level, and low/normal TIBC. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and cancer.
