Nectin-4 has a critical role in cancer cell proliferation and metastasis [23,25,26,27] via the proliferation of cancer cells by activating the phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway [27,28] and epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related signaling, which contributes to the metastasis of tumor cells [29]. The gene discussed is NECTIN4; the disease is cancer.
