ESR2 and neoplasm: Considering all available studies, further efforts are needed to examine to what extent the consistent results from in vitro studies, clearly suggesting ERβ to function as tumor-suppressor in EC, can be verified on the tissue level, e.g., through its association with clinical parameters in large patient cohorts, and by novel mechanistical studies which should use the benefits of novel technologies which have led to current multiomics to clarify the role of this receptor in EC.
