Another pre-formed heteroleptic ZnII complex 1 with 4,4′-bis(hydroxymethyl)-2,2′-bipiridine (Figure 2), curcumin and chlorido ligands also exhibited cytotoxic effects in cancer cell lines with a mutant p53 status, namely SK-BR-3 breast cancer cells with an H175 mutation and U373 glioblastoma cells with an H273 mutation, but not in a cancer cell line with wild-type p53 [69]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is glioblastoma.
