In line with these findings, Xu et al. showed that blockade of the HGF/MET axis inhibition, achieved by the concomitant use of a MET tyrosine kinase inhibitor and of an HGF-blocking antibody, in combination with a chemotherapeutic treatment [19], resulted in the abolition of pancreatic cancer metastasis. This evidence concerns the gene MET and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
