GE11 peptide exhibits high affinity to epithelial growth factor receptors (EGFR) (Genta et al., 2017), which are overexpressed in esophageal cancer at ∼13-fold higher compared to Barrett’s esophagus mucosa (Cronin et al., 2011) and ∼20-fold higher compared with normal esophageal mucosa (Kashyap & Abdel-Rahman, 2018). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and esophageal cancer.
