KRAS and thyroid cancer: This study focused on HRasG12V, a driver mutation in several cancers, including bladder and thyroid cancer and squamous cell carcinoma,55 where early HRasG12V mutations drive abnormal tissue growth and folding.56 In our previous study, we found similar mitotic rounding phenotypes following oncogenic KRas and HRas expression.11 In future work, it will be important to test how well each model can be applied to cancers driven by other Ras isoforms.
