Macrophage accumulation with IBD impaired, and macrophage depletion reversed perivascular nerve dysfunction in mesenteric arteries with IBD, thus we used confocal immunolabeling and colocalization analysis to determine whether IBD was associated with an increase in the association of the macrophage protein F4/80 and the sensory neurotransmitter receptor proteins RAMP1 and NK1R (Figure 9A). The gene discussed is TACR1; the disease is inflammatory bowel disease.
