Based on the meta-analysis, it was evidenced that the educational technologies presented a protective factor for preventing the incidence of diabetic ulcers, emphasizing the importance of using these resources in the assistance provided to patients with diabetes mellitus. In a prospective cohort study, the cumulative incidence of diabetic ulcers was 5.6% in two years, with the following risk factors for ulcerations: previous history of ulcerations or amputations, insulin consumption, distal neuropathy and foot deformity(31).
