CD274 and non-small cell lung carcinoma: In particular, the PACIFIC trial was a landmark clinical trial whose results led to the approval of durvalumab, an anti-programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) monoclonal antibody, for use in patients with unresectable stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without disease progression after definitive chemoradiotherapy (CRT).1 However, clinical trials, while internally valid, are carried out under controlled conditions with homogenous patient populations that are typically not representative of real-world patients.
