Figures 4C, D show that lipid drop numbers in liver tissue were significantly and dose-dependently lower in the LMED and HMED groups than in the Vehicle-treated KO group, although they were considerably higher in the Vehicle-treated Lep KO group than in the WT group. These findings suggest that the ameliorating effects of MED on obesity phenotypes are associated with the inhibition of hepatic steatosis in Lep KO mice. The gene discussed is LEP; the disease is fatty liver disease.
