Finally, it is interesting to mention that the increase, activation, and proliferation of memory T lymphocytes (CD8+CD45RO+, CD4+CD45RO+, and CD8+CD28-) in patients with obesity during chronic inflammation results in the loss of telomerase (memory T lymphocytes with short telomeres), and this in turn leads to decreased naïve T lymphocytes (with long telomeres). This evidence concerns the gene CD28 and obesity disorder.
