The activation of AIM2 inflammasome contributed to the pathophysiology of chronic CCH-induced brain injury (Poh et al., 2021), and it was revealed and knockout of AIM2 attenuated pyroptosis in the cerebellum following CCH mainly by decreasing the production of proinflammatory cytokines (Poh et al., 2021). Here, AIM2 is linked to columnar cell hyperplasia of the breast.
