Although previous studies have demonstrated that intranasal insulin administration improves performance in the ADAS-cog test and brain glucose metabolism in patients with AD, a randomized clinical trial by Craft et al. (2020) did not find significant effects of intranasal insulin administration on ADAS-cog-12 scores in AD patients, possibly due to the inadequate use of some devices in the study (Craft et al., 2020). The gene discussed is INS; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
