In addition, PD-L1–expressing eosinophils accumulated in the colon of Crohn’s disease patients, where they localized in proximity to CD4+ T cells and showed evidence of an IFN-γ–associated signature (Gurtner et al., 2022), raising the possibility that IFN-γ–dependent PD-L1 expression might directly contribute to downmodulate Th1 response or might represent a useful marker for eosinophils with regulatory properties. Here, CD274 is linked to Crohn disease.
