Larvae of the edible insect T. molitor prevented HFD‐induced obesity through AMP‐activated protein kinase and mitogen‐activated protein kinases (Seo, Goo, et al., 2017), and the intracerebroventricular administration of T. molitor larvae extract suppresses appetite by reducing neuropeptide Y (Seo, Kim, et al., 2017). Here, NPY is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
