Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a myeloproliferative neoplasm characterized by a reciprocal chromosomal translocation t(9;22) that generates the BCR::ABL1 fusion protein, a constitutively active tyrosine kinase essential for the pathogenesis of the disease. Here, ABL1 is linked to chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
