Moreover, by the significantly higher IFNγ/IL4 ratio we demonstrate even stronger inflammation on the ocular surface of the untreated follow-up OHT subjects compared to treated POAG patients, finding further supported by insignificantly higher concentrations of IL1β and IFNγ in tears of untreated patients with OHT compared to long-term treated patients with POAG. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and open-angle glaucoma.
