In addition, genetic variants in the RGS2 and ASIC1 genes have been linked to panic disorder, while those in the ASIC1 gene are linked with treatment response in social anxiety disorder; (iii) the monoaminergic ‘risk’ genes (i.e., SLC6A4, MAOA, and HTR1A) were related to social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, women with panic disorder, anxiety traits and response to psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions [40]. This evidence concerns the gene HTR1A and social phobia.
