To investigate whether chicory may influence the development of adaptive immune responses to infection, we quantified T-cell profiles in the mesenteric lymph nodes (MLN) at day 14 p.i. H. polygyrus infection in mice fed the AIN93G diet increased the proportion of Th2 (CD4+GATA3+) T-cells in the MLN (p < 0.001) with no changes in the proportion of Th1 (CD4+Tbet+) or T-regulatory (CD4+Foxp3+) T-cells (Fig. 2A). This evidence concerns the gene GATA3 and infection.
