In support of a role for genetic variation in STAT6 in human allergic disease, many single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of STAT6 are associated with atopic disorders, including atopic dermatitis, eczema herpeticum, food allergies, eosinophilic esophagitis and asthma [11–13]. Here, STAT6 is linked to eosinophilic esophagitis.
