MAPT and supranuclear palsy, progressive, 1: Protein levels of Rho-associated protein kinases (ROCK1 and ROCK2) are thought to be increased in PSP/CBD brains, with previous animal studies demonstrating how pharmacologic inhibition of Rho kinases in neurons diminished detergent-soluble and -insoluble tau through a combination of autophagy enhancement and tau mRNA reduction [123], potentially paving the way for a new means of treating such tauopathies.
