CDK1, a member of the cyclin-dependent kinase family which is up-regulated in several cancers by regulating cell cycle progression and activating of JAK/STAT3 signaling[46, 47], participated in the pathogenesis of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) by influencing mitochondrial dynamics and the cell cycle [48]. The gene discussed is STAT3; the disease is pulmonary arterial hypertension.
