Multiple putative tumor suppressor genes are located in the 13q14 region.1The retinoblastoma tumor suppressor gene (RB1) is also located in this region and is mutated in a variety of tumors.2However, in tumors such as epithelial ovarian carcinoma3, 4and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma,5theRB1showed normal expression suggesting possible mutations of other potential tumor suppressors that lie in proximity to theRB1. The gene discussed is RB1; the disease is neoplasm.
