METTL3 and infection: Our results show that there is no significant increase in IFN-β induction in METTL3 KO cells upon infection with EBOV, and that the same was true in the context of JUNV or CCHFV minigenome assays, demonstrating that m6A methylation of viral RNAs has a different function in the life cycles of EBOV, JUNV and CCHFV than has been described for other NSVs.
