Surprisingly, recent research results show that tumor cells can also be transformed into non-invasive fat cells: in the mouse breast cancer model, after combined use of PPARγ agonists rosiglitazone and MEK (mitogen activated protein kinase) inhibitor trimetinib, breast cancer cells eventually differentiated into adipocytes, invasive cancer cells growth stagnate, cell plasticity loss, inhibit the invasion and metastasis of primary tumors. The gene discussed is PPARG; the disease is neoplasm.
